The use and abuse of drugs, alcohol, and other substances create serious problems inside and outside of the workplace. The National Institute for Drug and Alcohol Abuse identifies these issues as the most preventable cause of accidents in the workplace. Employees can help prevent
incidents by learning to recognize the signs of use and properly reporting and documenting these instances.
