Confined Space Search and Rescue Training

Prerequisites

Participants are expected to have knowledge on safe work systems.

Target group

This training is intended for personnel working in hazardous / confined space regions.

Objectives

This extended duration course is designed for experienced confined space personnel who have been selected or require additional training to become entry/task or site supervisors (Appointed/Authorised Persons).

Note: This course will introduce and use SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), Airlines and Escape Set apparatus.

Contents

The course consists of practical and theoretical training and knowledge of:• An understanding of

• Confined Space legislation.
• Recognition of confined spaces and classification.
• Understanding of the hazards associated with confined spaces.
• Ability to identify and use specialist equipment required for confined space entry activities.
• An understanding of the activity roles and individuals duties regarding confined spaces procedures.

Practical exercises incorporating confined space equipment, emergency scenarios and extrication requirements of casualties.
