Firefighting Level 1

Prerequisites

Delegates attending this training course must have Basic Firefighting Training.

Target group

This course is aimed at emergency response team members appointed to control fire-fighting operations and officers who wish to qualify for a Certificate of Competency.

Objectives

The course is designed for training and competence in knowledge of the causes of fire, and prevention and firefighting techniques as well as risk minimization and actions to be taken in the event of a fire or similar emergency.

• Fire detection equipment and investigation
• Legislation
• Liaison with Fire & Rescue services
• Search & rescue techniques
• Use & control of breathing apparatus
• Major incident involving multi-compartment fires
