Target group

The purpose of this training course is to provide delegates with a series of explanations and demonstrations, which will identify what they are, expected to know and do when involved in Rigging and Lifting Operations. This is followed by numerous practical exercises, which allows delegates to be assessed by experienced instructors and assessors. An individual assessment to determine learning outcomes and competency will be prepared for each delegate.

Objectives

The aim of this course is to deem candidates competent according to the OPITO standard and to begin the second stage of their training in the workplace under supervision

  • Delegates will work in teams to examine lifting machinery and accessories then plan and undertake routine rigging tasks.
  • Including cross-hauling methods.
  • Delegates will work in teams undertake various Complex rigging tasks.
  • Delegates will be required to individually plan given rigging tasks assessed on their knowledge and skills learned.
