Prerequisites

Candidate must be an IRATA level 2 technician with minimum of 12 months working experience.

Target group

This course is designed for supervisors of wide range of worksites.

Objectives

To provide participants with advanced level knowledge for site supervision for rope access work projects and comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.

Contents

The course focuses on the following elements:

  • Level 1 and 2 theory sections
  • Risk assessment and method statement
  • Equipment inspection
  • Management and records
  • Rescue management
  • Assessment of alternatives to lead climbing and where lead climbing is a valid safe option
  • Writing method statement for lead climbing in a particular situation
  • Equipment and Rigging: All sections equipment and rigging covered in level 1
    White “Y” hang, re-belay, deviation
  • Rope and sling protection
  • Pull-through, work-restraint and horizontal lifelines
  • Tensioned ropes

Practical skills

  • All techniques from level 1 and 2
  • Rescue/Hauling
  • Advanced rescue, Tensioned ropes, short links, Descent passing knots, break into tight knots, large re-belay
